Poem No 123

Clive Osundina's

A SIMPLE MAN

Take my mind, and my soul...., You can have it all.

And i feel no pain, weak as i am.

Like an Oasis, and a fountain, but the River flows.

See me standing still, with my life and a one way ticket to nowhere.

Unfolds, the route to a peaceful journey....

For a bit of a smile and even a chuckle

don't miss Bill Melrose's stories.

Poem No 124
by Alpha

slaves

General W., my uncle, loves boxing
real men they are
hard men

during the Vietnam War
he
dismisses voices of protest with
cowards, traitors

important to him is

a complimentary ticket
for a Muhammad Ali fight
a ring-side seat, naturally

Ali won
and the general demanded
to speak to the victor personally
immediately after the fight

great fight, Cassius Clay
strong victory
the army will be proud of you
when you enlist shortly
just the man we want

sorry, general
my name is Muhammed Ali
no longer a slave
enlisting ?
not me
no Vietnamese never called me no nigger

Poem No 125

by TED SMITH

REMEMBER

You say our love has grown too old

And kisses all have grown cold

And to be faithful to your heart

You think it time that we should part

I my heart I know the truth

That love has flown with our youth

Since we must part then let us part as friends

And time will heal the wounded heart

The years will make amends for injuries

That each has felt to be the others making

We must forget

Forget the happy youthful hours

The trees, the streams, the meadow flowers

Forget that we were young

Yet in the still of night a voice will say

Remember
